The 2011 movie with McConaughey is based on Connelly's first
Lincoln Lawyer novel (2005). The 2022 series starts with the second novel,
The Brass Verdict, and goes from there, oftentimes combining stories from several novels.
I really enjoyed the movie. And I liked the first couple of seasons of the series, but it gradually got more woke as it went on, which is different from the books. Also Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haler is written too far from Haller's character in the novels. He's too saintly, almost pious with his ethics. The guy is engaging enough, but too sickly sweet. His secretaries and investigator are also much different from the books.
