Several animal shelters that deserve the money. This is a very difficult decision, since many of them have a corrupt leadership. I know some of them.

Having been helped before, it would definitely be Homeless Veterans groups. These people are regularly over looked and under represented.

There was once a guy on a forum. He said: I got a new job! He became CEO or something for an organization for the poor people in Africa. He was gonna get 250.000 a year and would get an extra house in Belgium. Aren't you happy for me? People got mad. He could not understand. Why aren't you happy for me?

A million dollars? Sounds a lot but in today's world it isn't a huge amount. I already donate monthly to Medicins sans Frontiers and quarterly to the Rural Fire Service. I also contribute to the work of my local congregation.
If I won $1,000,000 in the lottery I would give all of it to MSF because the work they do is the most urgent and the workers are so dedicated.
