As part of our Florida room build, we’re re-doing the flower garden that runs the length of the porch, which was created with a low red brick wall that was crumbling and unsightly. And also part of the wall was going to have to go anyway because the firebox for the fireplace we’re putting in needs cinderblock support which Ron’s been building. He worked on the firebox support while I worked on the wall.

Found some really nice looking border stones at Home Depot, and I set to work with a sledge hammer demolishing the old wall so I could build the new one.

My uncle was a bricklayer and enjoyed having me help him, so I learned to lay brick when I was 10! 😉 Ran out of mortar, I’ll have to finish the cementing tomorrow, but I’m pleased with the way the stone looks!

Now, if I can ever get my back to work right again, we’ll be good! 😂

Well done! Don't hurt yourself.
Too late for that I’m afraid! 😂 Hobbling around this morning like an old lady!

I’ll work it off though. I have a bunch of planting to do now! Gotta get those hosta in the ground as well as that tub of assorted other plants!

There’s nothing like doing the thing that got you sore and stiff all over again to work through the soreness and stiffness! 🤪

Planting in the mud and rain sure ain’t for sissies!! 😂🌺

@Gary O' it can’t possibly equal working in the deep snow and below freezing temps, but within my frame of reference it’s taxing nonetheless!

The hanging bit is what benefits me most. I hang from a chin-bar by the backs of my knees at least once a day. Honestly, makes me feel like a new man. Or, more like an old man with a new spine.
Geez, how do you even get up there to be able to hang by your knees lol?

Ever thought about getting that piece of equipment that inverts your whole body while laying on it?
It is a little scary while doing it, I'll admit.

An inversion table! We have one. It doesn’t do much for me, but Ron swears by it! He gets regular adjustments and massages because of the physical work that he does every day (and because he’s 76 😂) but the inversion table really helps in between times!

My photos aren’t loading well. When I look at my post it displays2 with one attachment, or one only. Or just two attachments. Sorry folks! As soon as I can post all the photos fully I’ll do so!

I used to have an inversion table. I decided to part with it after I moved into the old apartment. I just didn't have the space for it. I got the adaptable chin-bar instead. After 7 years of using it, I've grown accustomed to it.

At the level where I lock the bar into place, while I'm hanging, the back of my head rests on the floor and my shoulders are just barely above it, so there's no worry about falling, and, to get my legs over it I just lay on my back directly under it, pull my knees up to my chest, and then raise my lower half up while I swing my legs over it. The worst that's ever happened is when I've raised my torso up too fast and my legs too slowly and I wind up doing a backward somersault.
