93 year-old, Brian Wilson, has chalked up more than 70 years on the road, and could be the UK's oldest Heavy Goods Vehicle licence-holder. Like his 1993, Truck, Mr Wilson requires a full health check each year, which he said he passed just before Christmas.

Brian shuns sat-navs and even road maps, insisting the nation's road network is committed to memory. He conceded a lot had changed over the decades, not least the cost of fuel. When starting out, he paid just under two shillings for a gallon of diesel, he revealed.

(Two shillings is ten pence. Today a gallon of diesel is ÂŁ5:50. That's fifty-five times higher than Brian's two shillings.

What’s the secret to making it into triple figures?
