11 Rudest Countries in the World, According to Tourists

Surprised you hardly imagine the USA as a tourist attraction. Haven't you heard of Disney World?😊. The one I find difficult to consider a tourist attraction is Russia.
..and yet I would lve to go to Russia as a toruist, I'd really want to see St Petersburg over Moscow..I'm told the capital is very drab compared to St pete..... but like so many people I'd be afraid to go on my own because of the world situation with regard to Russia & Ukraine currently.. but given the chance to go, I would go in a heartbeat..

It absolutely is. NYC, Miami, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, LA, etc.

Based on the German/Swiss love of renting RVs and travelling open Canadian roads, I’m sure wide-open states like Montana are popular too. They want to experience the Rockies and see the cowboys.
At home they preach "save the world, EVs, vegan". On vacation it is SUVs, steak and pedal to the metal.

But anyway, here is a news report about Londoners.

That scary person could have been me. After seeing the startled look of terror on their faces after I said, "Hi," I began to think it was too informal or too obviously American so I starred saying "Good Awfternoon," like Sir John Gielgud, but they saw right through my act and remained frightened.

I kept forgetting myself and would start chatting to the stranger next to me about some interesting thing we were looking at, like Stonehenge, and I would get the classic British response, a dead pan pause followed by, "And you are?"

Della lol.. in the South they do that to everybody.. regardless...

People here in the south are generally completely buttoned up the back.

I am a Northerner, very typically friendly people... but even after 52 years here in the south I can't get people not to look at me like I'm an axe murderer if I start up a conversation...

Do these lists rude/ smelly/ or whatever make a difference to many who are going to travel?
I doubt it. People can be rude anywhere.
Simple click bait to get people to look and disagree or talk about
Exactly. I, for one, do not care the least what other people rate a destination of my choice. If I want to go, I will go. I'm not going for the people anyway.
Also, def clickbait, as most "articles" are these days.... Anything to spark division.

exactly that is why they stretch these out too..... finding an "Article" is like a needle in a haystack of veiled ads or opinion / gossip.
On some platforms you only get $$ if someone gets thru most of list or watch most of video like 75% before they count as a view.

NYC is one of the kindest places I know. Laugh all you want, but it's true. It's reputation is not deserved. Personally, I haven't been to other cities since I'm old, but...........people literally knock themselves out trying to help me before I even need to ask, and I don't ask.......someone is always there in a flash, opening doors, asking to help with whatever I need. I have always been kind to tourists, and that is all I have seen here. Yes, we are always in a rush to get somewhere, but stop when needed. I am proud of NYC, although not a fan of our MTA transit system.
True that. I remember venturing too far away from my hotel and getting lost. There was an officer standing in a park and I asked him how to get back there. He took such care he could have practically walked me back to my hotel. New Yorkers are great.

We've been in 11 of the US states and having mainly avoided the touristy bits, I found most people treated us with a sort of polite curiosity.
However, I found people in Florida were often, if not rude, a bit abrupt.
Back in Europe, apart from Paris, I found the French generally pleasant. I remember eating in a restaurant in a small French town, and while there, it started to rain heavily. When we went to leave, the manager insisted on driving us back to our hotel.

talking about the friendliest places..

We'd just arrived ( pre Sat Nav's etc)... in a small dusty hot one horse town in Northern Italy, and we couldn't find the address of our destination.

There was a bunch of old men sitting outside a bar smoking drinking, & playing a board game. We stopped & showed them the address on a piece of paper, and asked if they knew the direction to go..

Without a word, one man stood up, beckoned for us to follow him, got in his car , and we followed for about 6km's outside of the town..a long way .. which we'd never have found on our own.

He refused all offers of payment or cigarettes which my companion offered him... and just drove back again to town.

That was my experience too @Pepper. We had some great times in NYC and made some good friends there too :)

UK in my personal experience. I'm wondering about Australia now.
@BlueDragonfly
During my early years in Adelaide, South Australia .. I had quite a few people stop to direct me, when I had my map out. It was very much appreciated. The bus drivers were very helpful, stopping, getting off the bus to point out directions.

Oops! This thread is about rudeness.

Please carry on!

Well that's

Well that's nice to hear!

Try

Atlanta! Try Atlanta with a motorhome. Combat training for the not faint of heart.
Yes, they will let you merge - if you have the bigger truck!
Years ago, before GPS, I got lost in Atlanta. Apparently you're not allowed to have a street name, unless it begins with "Peachtree". I asked for directions and the guy said, " Go down two blocks, right on Peach, then at the light, left on Peach, when you get to Peach turn left.".
