I'm relieved to see this story had a good outcome. That poor young girl did the right thing.

Too often, we'd get 12 and 13 yr olds admitted to the acute prenatal unit due to botched abortions. We'd have to fight like there's no tomorrow to save that girl's life and on occasion we'd even save the baby's. But, tragically, a kid like that is ruined for life. Most don't even know who the father is or if so, keep quiet since it was usually a family member or close friend of the family. NYC sees this in all the big hospitals.

At the end of the video, it was mentioned that New Jersey has a "safe surrender" program.

Several other states have such programs, including California where I live. https://www.cdss.ca.gov/safe-surrender-baby

Unfortunately, there is little publicity about this program. I wonder what portion of the young women who might surrender their newborn infants this way even know about the program.
