15 uses for your used pill bottles

Remember when we used to keep the containers for our new rolls of 35 mm film. I had so many I quit saving them and then there weren’t any.

6. Travel Toiletry Bottles

If you need to carry a liquid, paste or gel in your airplane carry-on, current TSA regulations require they be in a container that carries 3.4 ounces (100.6 milliliters) or less. A standard prescription pill bottle will usually hold enough shampoo, peanut butter or moisturizer to get you through TSA and your vacation.

I wouldn't dream of putting any kind of liquid, gel or lotion in a pill bottle - is it just me?

Like others here, I have nicer little containers for this or that so I recycle pill bottles.

I DO still reuse glass baby food jars. They're perfect at containing various colors of Christmas cookie frostings!

Warning: Long rambling somewhat incoherent post follows.

Well, ms gamboolgal rolls her eyes at me for this while shaking her head, but what the Hell - it's the internet. Actually, she puts up with alot of things I do - Thank God :)

It's OK for yawl to tell me I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer - sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do - ha !

We have only one Daughter who is a single Mom and we watch our Granddaughter 3 to 4 days per week so #1 Daughter can go to work at her job at the Hospital (Paramedic in the ER). They are long days as we pick her up at ~0930 hrs and take her back to her Mommy at 0100 hrs - so 14 hrs per day or more for 3 to 4 days per week and sometimes we keep her at our house. We love doing it but boy oh boy is raising kids for young folks - ha!

But on to the old empty Pill Bottles

I have put quite a bit of Cash Money and Coins into a bunch of old Pill Bottles for our one and only Grandbaby - a little 20 month old baby girl. We continue to add to the Pile - Coins are heavy !

Pennys, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Half Dollars, Silver Dollars, the little dollar coins, all denominations of bills. We are also ordering fancy coins from the US Mints to put in it for her each year. Commemorative Stamps, etc. Some of the smaller Collectible Knives, some fancy Compasses, anything that we think she might like or could be handy for her one day.

Well one thing led to another as it became apparent that all her Treasure was scattered all over the Junk Room. So I bought a Welders Box, and painted her name on it. It is her "Treasure Box".

Her Treasure Box will have money - Cash and Coins, Jewelry, Trinkets, Bible with family histories and supplemental write ups, Family Heirlooms especially for her, Books with our hand wrote notes to her, Notes, Post Cards from places we have took her too, Letters to her and her Mom (#1 Daughter) and family Pictures labeled so that they will actually mean something from Grandma and Grandpa. And of course it will have lots and lots of Pill Bottles full of Treasure that she will have to open up and use one day.

All the pictures and many of the letters and family information is Organized, labeled and scanned and/or saved to electronic media and external hard drives. So hopefully our Daughter and Granddaughter will have it all in a useable manner one day.

Not to worry, all my guns and knives are in Gun Safes that only ms gamboolgal and I know the combo to. I have already made arrangements to have all the firearms / ammo took away by some childhood friends who will sell most of it all for ms gamboolgal when the time comes. No unsecured firearms.

Of course, I'm hoping that I will be around long enough to introduce #1 Granddaughter to hunting, fishing, shooting sports - but time will tell - and of course she may have zero interest in it all. Her Mom doesn't have any interest in it - so there's that. It's all good no matter how it turns out.

But back to the Pill Bottles...

The Tellers at our Bank get a big kick out of us coming in with #1 Granddaughter to get loaded up on Coins and Cash for her Treasure Box... ha !

We are working on filling it and hopefully will have many years to do so. This is a long term project as in years and years - so no rush.

I know this, if we do fill the thing up with a lot of coins - and other assorted "Treasures" - it will take a Fork Lift to move it... ha !

And yes, we know that Cash monies does not draw interest. We have our Daughter and our Granddaughter took care of with our Wills and a Trust for after ms gamboolgal and I cross over the Jordan.

In the meantime we are gifting with a warm hand - as we are fortunate and able to do so. Seeing the good now that the monies provides for them is for us - a good thing and so gratifying.

All good and fun stuff.

That's #1 Granddaughter in her "Treasure Box" when she was about 10 months old. For now it is a Toy Box and we're piling all her stuff up in some other boxes in the Junk Room.

Dayam - I got on a roll. it was fun.

That’s just strange. That doesn’t seem like a large enough amount for one day of vacation. I’ll buy a small jar when I arrive at my destination.
Wanted to give you a❤️ and a :ROFLMAO: for that comment about peanut butter. We're obviously kindred spirits.
