16 Degree F In Houston?!

We haven't been above freezing in this past week, and it will be at least another week before we get normal temps back. This weekend, we should see morning temps below Zero, and may set a couple of records for those days. Couple these low temps with Northerly breezes, and we may have wind chill factors rivaling those in parts of Canada and Alaska. This is the longest cold spell I can recall in years.

Tuesday's low will be 22F ; that is extremely rare for the Rio Grande Valley. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.... I am going to be hibernating for a few days!

Last Wednesday night the temperature in
Braemar in Scotland was -23C or -9.8F I am
happy not to live in Scotland now, when I
read things like that.

You are welcome - always here to share. We are 5F (-15C) but feels like -9 (-23C). You are not even close to cold. Babies...
Having worked with Higgott Kane in Canada on many occasions sometimes standing outside their facility shooting the bull, me wrapped up like thread on a spool and praying we would soon go indoors while the native Canadians stood there with their shirt waist jackets wide open I realized polar bears and teddy bears are not the same!

I like it when it gets way below freezing - just for a bit. When you go outside the air is crispy clean, like it has been scrubbed . The snow is crunchy when you walk on it. And when you come inside, the warmth feels so good. But there's a down side. The colder it gets means it's more likely your car will break down. There's nothing like the feeling of getting into a frozen car, with rock hard seats, and hearing the engine go "rurr. rurr, r-u-r-r............................
