16 year old builds tiny home

That is fantastic. I like the tiny home movement. Austin, the boy in the video, is really a remarkable kid.

When I see the size of homes anymore, just regular people's houses, I am flabbergasted, who needs all of that room. I would love to live in a tiny home, well we do sort of anyway, but not that tiny.

I hope he's got a 600HP tractor truck to pull it, because that thing must weigh a ton with all that wood.

Oops - there go the savings.

I give the kid credit for his building ability and general do-it attitude, but c'mon - the thing is heavy AND a fire trap.

By the time he adds a propane cook top, oven, heater. refrigerator, lights, generator,,etc and more etc. it would be cheaper to buy a new travel trailer. So, back to my original thought...his parents want him out.

Me thinks he should have got some help or read a few more books. Although his studs look level, he's missing a few things. However, for a backyard project, he did pretty good.

I think it is great he even is thinking ahead, ways to live cheaply. The kid is very industrious.
Yeah it must weigh a lot and would need a heafty rig to pull it someplace, but it's not like he will be dragging it all over the country like a tavel trailer.

And to live full time in a travel tailer is not wise, they aren't built for constant habitation, they have poor insulation and are not build worth a darn anymore. Unless you want an Airstream, a tiny house would be cheaper than an Airstream.

I'd love a Tiny home, here are some nice little houses.

I have to admit that I had watched this video a while back so didn't watch it again - I forgot what his plans for it were.

I'd love a Tumbleweed as well - I'd be totally happy with the space.

The infamous - and 20 years gone - Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong...

kowloon-walled-city-1.jpg

About 50,000 people lived within a few blocks in this ungoverned, unregulated "city" that at times was taken over by the Triads and featured prostitution, drugs and all the other elements of crime, yet also had successful schools and businesses. It was finally demolished in 1992 and a park now stands where people lived their lives.
