This came up on my You Tube Suggestions. Gives the impression that buying a turkey for Thanksgiving was a new thing.

We had turkey during my lifetime but it wasn’t always on the menu.

The country folks ate what they had and in the fall that might be roast pork, chicken, venison, etc...

My father and my grandmother used to survey the Thanksgiving dinner and rattle off the things that were produced on my grandmother’s farm.

So much has changed in my lifetime!

These days I heat up a frozen turkey entree, add a sweet potato, and a cabbage salad.

That brought back a lot of memories of my youth. My Mom always made soo much food for Thanksgiving. Turkey, Lasagna, vegetables, salad, sweet potatoes. I loved the dessert but the only thing I didn't like was the Italian wedding soup because she would put lima beans in it. I hated lima beans so when she would turn her back my sister would take all the lima beans out of my soup so I wouldn't get punished for not eating them.
