I saw one similar to this on the History Channel series Counting Cars. But it was a 1973.

I actually like the design; reminds me of an old Corvette that had a similar design.

Those boat tails were so called because they resemble the prow of a sailing vessel. Before buying my vintage MG, I looked long and hard at a rare MG boat tail. It was a considerable price but that wasn't why I didn't buy it. My wife is prone to “hay fever.” a pollen allergy medically described as: “seasonal allergic rhinitis.” To you and me that means open top cars can cause severe sneezing fits. None the less I still love the MG Boat Tail.
