Apparently several vehicles caught fire and the firefighters were trying to backout of the fire. The ship's crew is accounted for.

I always hate to hear this... my ex was a firefighter, and when firefighters leave home for a shift , there's always the possibility in the back of the mind of the loved ones that they may never see them again.. It's a terrifically dangerous job... and I'm so sorry for the families of these 2... May they R.I.P... and God bless their families..

The ship is still burning and now there are questions about Newark firefighter training on ships. Authorities say since port fires are their responsibility they should be training for them. Supposedly 6 years since the department had ship fire fighting training.
