From Washington Post today:
There have been over 200 mass shootings so far in 2022
Washington Post June 3, 2022

Before a man killed at least four people Wednesday at a hospital in Tulsa, there had already been 232 mass shootings this year in the United States, according to the Gun Violence Archive. It is the twentieth since last week’s shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Tex., left 19 children and two teachers dead.

Mass shootings, where four or more people — not including the shooter — are injured or killed, have averaged more than one per day so far this year. Not a single week in 2022 has passed without at least four mass shootings.

Mass shootings have been on the rise in recent years. In 2021, almost 700 such incidents occurred, a jump from the 611 in 2020 and 417 in 2019. Before that, incidents had not topped 400 annually since the Gun Violence Archive started tracking in 2014.

This year is on pace with last year’s high when comparing the same time period. The toll is immense. Mass shootings have killed 256 people and injured 1,010 more through the end of May 2022.

Is seems hardly a day goes by without one of these shootings, somewhere in the U.S. Lunacy seems to be reaching an all time high, and all these Covid and Inflation issues aren't helping. Stress must be taking over many peoples lives. It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Congress does to rewrite our firearms laws....they certainly need some "tweaking".
I join those who support the ban on assault rifles....they serve NO Purpose other than to create chaos....and more and more of these politicians seem to be leaning towards raising the age limit for firearm purchases to 21....which would have saved the lives in Buffalo, and the Texas school.

Yesterday, it was another routine day in the USA. Gun culture and gun violence is a way of life. More hallow thoughts and prayers once again. Truth be told, H. Rap Brown said back in 1967: "Violence is as American as cherry pie."

"A gunman in Iowa shot dead his ex-girlfriend and her friend during a domestic attack before turning the gun on himself, police have revealed.

Jonathan Lee Whitlatch, 33, fatally shot, Eden Mariah Montang, 22, and Vivian Renee Flores, 21, in the parking lot outside Cornerstone Church of Armes, near Des Moines, Sheriff Paul Fitzgerald said.

He blasted them with a 9MM pistol following a fallout with Montang, the local sheriff said at a Friday press conference."

There are a lot of mass shootings, but when a mass shooting is a mass killing, AR-15 rifles seem to almost always be the weapon of choice. Granted, there are exceptions, like the white-supremacist kid who shot up a Black church with two handguns.
