1,000-pound butter diorama was designed and crafted by Jim Victor and Marie Pelton of Conshohocken, Pa., and it was created to reflect the theme of the 2024 Farm Show which is "Connecting Our Communities."

"Pennsylvania's $14 billion dairy industry provides jobs to 53,000 Pennsylvanians and makes up a third of our state's food agriculture industry," Secretary Redding said. "Our hardworking dairy farm families are connecting Pennsylvanians to opportunity and feeding our prosperity together."

I can't draw a stick figure, so it boggles my mind at the ability of anyone to be able to sculpt & transform a product like butter into recognizable shapes. I would love to see that up close.

These are always spectacular, but the artist went above and beyond this time. Last time I went there and saw one in person was probably... 1996 maybe? They've been doing it a long time. After the Farm Show, it will be recycled for energy.

I only watch the Farm Show in the hopes that the Lamb Princess will make a mad grab for power, and wind up in a steel cage death match with the Dairy Princess.- - That one had butter be good! 😸

I've been to the Farm Show multiple times. It's in a huge complex. And the rumor is that it always snows on the first day of the show, which it did. Also, maybe being held in January... ;) There's an army of kids, the Future Farmers working the booths. Farming is no longer just planting and crops. Farming is a business and a science. It amazes me when I see a scrawny 10 year old kid leading a 1,200 lb. cow around. It's really a cool show.

I usually go every year. We’re going tomorrow. I like the baked potatoes and milk shakes. When I was on duty, I always signed up for duty at the Farm Show. There’s about 100 State Troopers on duty at the show.

The unique thing about the Pennsylvania Farm Show is that everything that is shown, built or for sale was built in Pennsylvania. Here is a picture of my favorite cow. The Golden Guernsey. You can’t get any better milk.

This picture was taken at a previous show.

Sure was! My daughter used to love entering the various categories for ribbons when she was in school. Not any of the farm stuff... just cooking, crafts, photography, artwork... stuff like that. She has a bunch of blue ribbons from it but the most memorable for her was her iced heart sugar cookies. She not only won a blue ribbon, but the next day heard our favorite radio announcer talk about her cookies on his program. :giggle:

Bad part of it was having to go to Harrisburg to drop off entries, then go again during the Farm Show to enjoy it and check out any wins, and then again to pick everything up.
