2025 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Hotter than predicted!

The high today was supposed to be 91F/33C with a 50% chance of rain, but when I took Lucius out at 15:30, it was 95F/33C with a real feel of 105F/40.5C. Ugh. 🥵 🌭

I went ahead and gave the plants their second watering since there's been no sign of rain, so far.

Been hot here south of Chicago for about a week and now I asked is it supposed to cool off this Monday or is that supposed to be the next Monday.
Can you imagine what people would have thought of you back in the 60s if you would have said “ according to the seven day forecast or the ten day forecast.”
They would have said your crazy nobody can forecast weather that far ahead of time.
We were RVing a little east of Tampa Fl.one winter and storms were blowing up in the Gulf and coming inland.
You could see where some had rotation by the real time weather radar from Tampa TV.
When it looked like we were in the path we started driving south and got to a Walmart about 30 miles south east of Tampa and went in for cover.
It poured buckets full and the lights went out for a few minutes while we huddled in sporting goods.
When it was over with we went out to get back in our truck and the parking lot was flooded with about 6 inches deep water.

Today was hot. Not 100 but 90. I drove a housemate to an appointment that was supposed to take just a few minutes. Well it took over an hour. At about 50 minutes I took my cane an hobbled into the building. The air in the car doesn't work well especially when it is idling. I felt I might pass out and I am in poor shape anyway. How do people do it? Not everyone has ac.

exactly and I'm proof of that... I have neither AC in the house or in the car !

Mid- to high 80s here. And several tornadoes touched down last night—one only about 1 mile from my building. 😳 I was woken up in the middle of the night by the sirens and by texts from my younger daughter saying "It looks creepy outside," which is the first sign that something is seriously wrong vis-a-vis a tornado.

Tornadoes terrify me because of their destructive potential and unpredictable nature. I grew up in New York State, which does not get them (or at least, never when I was growing up). Then I moved to Missouri, where they are more frequent. One struck the city my first week there.

Weather is better because it is pouring rain ATM.

Humidity is 74% and dewpoint is still 72°. Temperature is 82°.

It’s the dewpoint that needs to drop way down for life to be sane again. But that’s OK because there is cloud cover and cloud cover is a good thing in the middle of summer.
A dewpoint of 72 sounds unbearable, @Imogene; I hope it drops soon. You have my sympathy!

Yeesh, I hope you and family are safe!

Thanks, @Medusa; we are! It was particularly stressful because it was nighttime, so I couldn't really see anything. And I've heard that when you can actually hear a tornado, it's too late.

Last time a tornado hit I was still married, so I was able to text my ex (a meteorologist) and get detailed information.
