2026 Edition: How's Your Day(s)? What Did You Do? Go Anywhere?

@Ruthanne Does your area...city, county...have a Council on Aging or something similar? The name of the organization varies from place to place. Contact them and explain your predicament. Often they can get you moved up on the waiting list, depending on your circumstances.

When my brother had to have a place with just a week's notice, his local council got him moved to the top of a very long list. He was in his new apartment in a few days.

@OneEyedDiva I call "the creeps" Horizontal Surface Disease. If it's a flat surface with space available...it gets covered up with whatever is in my hand ;). And if what I put in that space is flat, chances are good that something will get put on top of that, too!

It's actually warm here this morning. Not warm like spring or summer, but32F. That's a whole lot warmer than it's been for more than a week. I'll take it! And it's sunny, too. We're going to have a heat wave this afternoon. The temp is expected to get to 46F. Woohoo.

I don't have a plan for today. I'll have to think on it.

GG...you describe perfectly how it happens! I love your term for things....Horizontal Surface Disease (HSD)!:ROFLMAO: Good advice you gave @Ruthanne. I hope it works for her too. God knows how to make us appreciate things, right. After being in 6 degree weather, we sure appreciate 32 degrees!

Since I was so lazy yesterday, today I got busy:
~ Updated our budget spreadsheets
~ Refilled my pill cases
~ Made peppermint gelee for my back when I shower & finished the body wash making process

~Loaded and ran the dishwasher then washed Deja’s bowls
~Sorted laundry
~I also did a bunch of small, yet essential tasks that help keep the household running efficiently

Since our sleet started last Saturday and our ice is finally melting, I made it to the gym, the pet store and the grocery store. It's ice and slush out there, but I followed the tracks made by previous vehicles. We've had snow in the past and it has melted quickly, but I've never seen this much ice and had no idea how long it would take it to melt, even with temps above freezing and sunny skies.
