2026 - How's the Weather Where You Are

1. My brother in NE Ohio:

“Winter weather advisories, lake effect snow warnings issued for several Northeast Ohio counties​

The National Weather Service has issued various alerts as some parts of Northeast Ohio brace for more than a foot of snow in the forecast.“


2. Me in southern Middle Tennessee, at least for the next ten days; this is normal weather for us. This is why I left the OH/PA border, not far from my brother, who is always privy to that curse phrase “Lake Effect”.

Thank you. I no longer feel like we're having a cold day here at 26 deg F at 10:49 am. We did have snow overnight. About a couple inches. 3rd time this December for snow.
I can't believe I'm talking about the weather. Oh boy.

Philadelphia PA is overall a good place to live for weather. Very few extremes a year.

oh no...sorry to disappoint you.. it's 4 deg Celcius which is 39 deg f...... so you're still way colder 🥶🥶

You’re still having a good day with the weather compared to Dunkirk, New York. I’ve been watching the weather channel because their weather reporter has been situated right on Lake Erie in Dunkirk. At one point it was 17° with the feels like of 2° and I’ll just bet that 2° was actually below zero in places.

My brother texted me back and said if the tractor will start, he now needs to plow snow. That means he’s got 10 or 12 inches on the ground. It isn’t like Tennessee — when three or 4 inches falls here and everything shuts down lol lol.

I stepped out to sweep snow off my steps and the wind was trying to blow me over. So I checked my phone weather app and its says its 28 F but feels like 16 F.
 
Went out with a dozen friends yesterday on a 90-minute walk on a trail, much of it close to the river. (Unfortunately, didn't have a means to take photos.) Saw a group of swans on the water, at some distance. We walked by a frozen pond with a group of guys, 20s to 40s, whooping-it-up playing hockey. As planned, ended up in the country home of good friends, with lots of finger food people had brought. ☺️

Today, at 3pm, the temp was a degree above freezing, and the scant inch or so of snow on the ground was melting. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain a little. An unusual sort of winter so far.
