This winter, West of the Rockies, has been unusually warm and dry. Now, however, the forecast for the next few days is for 10-20" of snow with winds up to 70 mph. We need the water so I don't mind. Shoveling is good exercise. I keep telling myself that, lol.

We got several inches of wet snow last night and it has just now resumed snowing.

Lighting flashing with thunder booming and shaking my residence as I type now at 10:15am Tuesday. I'm near the magenta dot. Given storm #3 in this Pacific Ocean series will be as strong as forecast, per above post, have decided to wait till Friday to try and reach Yosemite Valley and defer any fresh snow skiing until maybe next midweek after storm #4 wanes. Am in no hurry. Yesterday our Southwest desert wildflower areas received another good amount of rains that will now insure they will be going big at a once in a decade level. If any SF folks want to experience what are true world wonders, PM me for timing and logistical advice.

Overcast and fairly mild for this time of year. However, we're under a winter weather advisory starting at noon on Wednesday into Thursday morning. I wonder if meal delivery will be cancelled.

The Winter Storm Warning of a forecast of 10-20" of snow, winds up to 70 mph, has been a bust thus far. We had about 1-2" of new snow, a little wind, then sun came out and by early afternoon, snow was all melted. This morning, same thing, only less snow.

For days had been contemplating driving up to this resort that I can ski for free given my "Golden Age". However, too much snow for any resorts to safely open up many lifts or terrain. And is exceptionally cold that grates against any positives. Another even colder storm arrives tonight into Thursday with a sunny break Friday into Saturday before another potentially strong cold storm arrives.



Instead, am more likely to defer any skiing till next mid week. Heck I've been skiing for 45 years so is not as novel and thus valuable. As a senior with every day I wake up Saturday, I can be patient about it all. Friday that has a mostly sunny forecast will more likely for photography, visit Yosemite Valley that looks like the below winter wonderland this morning:
