25,000,000 $ single family house, pictures

Twenty five million dollars for a property on just over half an acre of land might seem expensive but you do get quite a lot of bang for your bucks. 12 bedrooms and eleven bathrooms over 12,709 square feet works out at $1967 per square foot. Expensive? Not really.

This is North Haven Point on the Sandbanks peninsular. Sandbanks is in the county of Dorset on the UK's southern shore line.

North Haven Point sold for £13.5m at auction. With a floor space of 2,909 sq ft, the price works out at £4,640 per sq ft. Sandbanks has now become the most expensive place to live in the world, beating New York, London, and Hong Kong.
£4640 equals $5651 US dollars. That's two and a half times the Florida price per square foot. For a humble cottage. Just Google North Haven Point.

The interior makes me itch.

I won't pull a reverse-snob and say I wouldn't have it, but for 25 mil, I think I could do something a wee bit more tasteful and somewhere else.....like where I couldn't see anyone else as in "my own private island".

But as there's not a snowball's chance in hell I'll ever be put in charge of 25 million dollars......

It looks like it was decorated/designed by an interior designer whose brain was engaged in a horrific nightmare.

For me, it's not worth living in for many reasons. If someone gave it to me, complete with servants, maintenance and repairs, lawn and other outside upkeep, taxes, and anything else house-related, all expenses paid by someone other than me ... I still wouldn't want it. Yes, even if it was magically transformed into a house that I thought was beautiful, also at someone else's expense.

From what I've seen, it's quite gaudy. It would need a major gut and reno job, so my agent would have to knock several mil off that price. :D As much as I love being near the ocean (or a large body of water), I wouldn't want to live that close.
