2AM Emergency!!!

At 2a.m. my son is trying to get his last little bit of sleep before he has to get up at 3 a.m. to put in a long hard day driving truck. If he didn't answer my best bet would to be to call my DIL's phone and his two young men. SOMEbody in that house should wake up and answer, I would hope. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to keep my landline phone. I've been reading up on it.

Do you have both or just one.?

What do you say to the bear...hold on I have to make an emergency phone call. Better to just lie still and play dead. j/k

Gave up the landline months ago. Cell phone is on bedside table. I would call 911 and then my daughter as her cell is on table as well. Don't plan to be in the wilderness anytime at all. Never miss the landline and I cannot see the sense of paying for 2 phones. Of course I am a little cheap.

With cell phones in today's world, would you be able to contact your children if you had a 2AM emergency??

No more princess phone s by the bedside to ring non stop off the hook!!

Yes, I could definitely contact my children, but they all live so far away that I wouldn't call them with a 2 a.m. emergency. I'd call 911 and speak to my children later. :D

^^^ This. In fact, I was in the local ER this morning at approx. 2 a.m. with my lovely Significant Other (who is now home and totally okay, btw). Why would I want to call my son (800 miles away) or her son (2,000 miles away)? What could they do?

I use my cell phone only when I go out. I'm still keeping my land line. I don't like giving out my cell phone number

to every Tom, Dick and Mary. Well, maybe Mary.

Blah, blah, blah. If I had an emergency, at 2 AM, I would think my way through it, and, if it was serious, a matter of life or death, and I couldn't think my way through it, and I couldn't summon an ambulance or a cab to the hospital, I'd die. Oh well - - - (FWIW, I would NEVER bother my adult kids at 2 AM, with my problems, but that's just me.)
