3 good things about winter

I was raised in the mountains of Colorado. Winter is playtime, even at my age! I cannot do these all now, but some I can.
Good things about winter...

Skiing down the mountain
Ice Skating outdoors
Sledding
Snowshoeing in to cut a Christmas Tree
Christmas
Snowballs
Snow Forts
Snow Angles
Kissing someone with a 'cold' nose

Having lived in 7 of our 10 Provinces in the past, winter means different things to people, depending on where they live in our vast country. The lower mainland of BC gets snow, but it also gets winter rains. Manitoba is pretty flat and man do the winds ever get high which increases the wind chill numbers. Quebec does winter the right way, with carnivals, and snow machine races, and mandatory snow tires on all vehicles from November to April. Newfoundland gets the worst winter gales and heavy snow of all of the eastern Provinces. Being a large island rock many miles off the east coast, it earns it's reputation as " The Rock ".

IF I had my way, new drivers in Canada would have to take their driving tests in the WINTER. When it is snowing and blowing and minus 20 C. Somebody from a tropical country should be required to learn to drive in winter road conditions. The body shop operators and the tow truck companies rub their hands together when the snow starts to fall. I used to own a 4 truck towing company in central Ontario, so I know all about it. JimB.

I like to take my walks in winter, especially if the sidewalks are shoveled & salted. I get added exercise for my knees when they are not
On a cold winter day if the sun is out, its a lovely sight to see snow glistening on the trees
I'm happy for the ski areas/operators{ all located south of Buffalo known as the 'southern tier} every year when they get alot of snow for the many skiiers/snow boarders around WNY
