3 pigs and 1 maid

I worked at many different jobs while my 5 children were growing up, then I decided I needed an education. I went to college at night for 19 years, half way through I started working as an accountant. I did that for another 15 years. As it turned out, my husband and I retired on the same day, 6 years ago. Now in a household of three, (my husband, son, and self), everyone is happily eating and watching TV. So we are 3 piggies, and only one of us is a maid. Guess who? I keep wondering, for an educated individual, how did this happen?:rolleyes:

Happens to us all....
my first husband didn't like me working, so didn't really help at home; I did everything.
My second husband was a better cook, and he ironed better than I , but the mess he left...

they just head for the fast food joints. After 47 years of marriage, they have my number.

Then let them, less work for you...then change your number. People only do to us what we let them, be it friends or family. Just because you enabled them for years and they have no incentive to change, doesn't mean you can't change. Put them on notice that you need a change, and maybe find some outside interests, hire a maid to come in once in a while and spend some time taking care of some of your needs.

Have you tried earnestly asking for their help? If so, and they are so indifferent to your needs you need some space.

I wish you luck, and I bet you can inspire them to change the situation.

Our son works our five acres of veggie gardens alone. I'm in a wheelchair most of the time now. Because I have very littleinteraction with people now days, I just needed to B---- to someone. After gabbing with you folks I feel much better about the situation. I guess I just needed to vent. Again, THANKIE THANKIE, as my great-granddaughter of four says.

Take it easy.......what it a little dusts between friends, or relatives for that matter?
set aside some time for you....come on here, have a giggle.....

Come back soon and vent as much as you like. We might no be able to do much to help the situation, but just talking it out helps sometimes. There's always someone here to listen and give you encouragement. I stand by what I said though, give those men, hell! No reason they can't help you to some degree.

Darn - I saw the thread title and thought this was going to be a XXX re-make of The Three Little Pigs ...

"I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down"

"Yes, Mistress!"
