One of my all time favorite baseball movies,'Field of Dreams' '89 celebrates its 30th anniv on 4/21.
The movie is based on W.P Kinsella's novel 'Shoeless JOe' baseball player,Shoeless Joe Jackson and his Black Sox team mates who were banned from baseball for throwing the 1919 World Series
This is a wonderful emotional movie about parents&children, dreams and a chance for redemption
A terrific cast with Kevin Costner as "Ray Kinsella' Iowa farmer who builds a baseball diamond in the middle of his cornfield,Amy Madigan as his wife,James Earl Jones, Burt Lancaster,Ray Liotta who plays'Shoeless JOe',Dwier Brown who plays'Ray's deceased father'John'
The movie has 2 classic lines,'If You Build He Will Come',"Is There a Heaven,Yes, its Where Dreams Come True'
One of the most emotional scenes where I always cry is when Ray and his dad,JOhn play a game of catch
I love the score by late composer,James Horner
The Lansing farm where most of the movie was filmed was sold in 2012 to "Go The Distance Baseball Company"
If you have the $,you can spend the weekend at the house for $900 or $750 on a weekday during prime season
I never get tired of watching this movie Sue

I like it, but it is one of wife's favorite films. I wouldn't call it a 'baseball movie'. You know that is only the backdrop for a very 'spiritual' film. We've been to the field several times as we go biking in the Dubuque area from time to time. I have not been there since it was sold. Every time we have gone by there someone is 'having a catch' in the field.
