3rd poultry producer recalls chicken that may contain rubber or wood

Sold between Jan. 17 and Jan. 31, the popcorn chicken was offered in hot and refrigerated cases in the deli department in all Publix stores in Florida, the grocery chain said in a statement. It was also sold in some Publix stores in southern Georgia, southern and coastal South Carolina and southern Alabama.
Produced on Jan. 4, 2019, the following product is being recalled:

• 20-lb. boxes containing 8 clear bags of "UNCOOKED POPCORN STYLE CHICKEN BREAST CHUNK FRITTERS WITH RIB MEAT" with a "USE BY 10 01 2019" date and lot codes of 9004101012, 9004101013, 9004101014, 9004101015, 9004101016, 9004101017, 9004101018, 9004101019, 9004101020, 9004101021, 9004101022, 9004101000 and 9004101001.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number "P-7091A" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

I just went shopping yesterday at Publix in Pensacola....Thank goodness I didn't buy my momma any popcorn chicken.

Pray tell how did wood and rubber get in chicken?

I don't know about the wood, but the rubber may be lost rubber gloves. ugh.

Years ago when I worked in a grocery store, you’d be amazed at some of the things people brought back, mostly canned goods. Ill tell you a couple, because I don’t want to upset your lunch.

A rubber hose found in a hot dog bun, a chunk of glass in a half gallon ice cream and a band aid in a can of green beans.

There is always something when it comes to our food. If it’s not salmonella or ecoli it’s pieces of something.

I belong to a Trader Joe’s group on Facebook and I’m seeing lots of pics of tiny worms in fresh fish...ugh.

It makes me angry....think our food supply should be better inspected etc.

Its bad enough people die from cancer and other things but to die because you ate a salad is just wrong!!

My rant for the day.
