It might interest people to know that in every study done over the last 20 years, the people moving OUT of CA on average are less well educated and earn less than the people moving INTO California.
I would be interested in knowing how many of these, allegedly less well educated, people leaving California were native Californians to begin with? I only ask because it's been my experience that native Californians were better educated than those folks in other states---with the exception of Oregon, Washington, and some of those states in the northeast. Also, having met large numbers of Americans from other states, I have found them, as a general rule, to be far less knowledgeable of the outside world than Californians---with few of them speaking even one foreign language.
