It has hit in the same general area as before - Christchurch.
This city has been hard hit but the people are resilient and they will be OK.
Easy for an Aussie to say, I know, but the Kiwis are amazing people.

Let's hope the aftershocks are over and all you folks in NZ can start cleanup/rebuilding. The biggest earthquake I've ever experienced was a 5+ here on the Big Island, and I was 30 miles from the epicenter. It is totally weird to feel the ground shake. Can't imagine a big one like this.

Humans are an amazing species.

It goes without saying that the Kiwis are going all out to rescue and help people affected by the earthquakes but quite a few of them are going down to the sea to rescue organisms that have been stranded above sea level by the elevation (1.8m) of the rocks.
