I think the vaccine is supposed work on the South African variant, just not quite as well.

As I understand it, our vaccines work on the U.K. version, the Johnson vaccine works a little bit on the South African, but we can’t get that one yet.

The powers that be are naming the new variants found in the USA after flowers, since naming the variants after the countires they are first found in, has caused ignorant people to play the blame game.
