My mother was sitting at this vanity combing her hair in preparation of attending a high school basketball game when the news of the bombing of Pearl Harbor came over the radio. This vanity was in my grandmother's house, but when she went into assisted living, my mother brought it to our house.

What a memory to carry on through the generations. I can almost vision her sitting there...all happy and carefree one second...devastated the next

My mom was having Sunday dinner at some relatives house where she and my grandparents used to visit when someone broke the news about Pearl Harbor.
