Then the training you suggest was in place long before Uvalde so maybe the training wasn't that great. Columbine was when they stood around in the parking lot while people bled to death and there have several incidents where the police fumbled since then.That is not a fair comment. I believe other than Uvalde most police responses to mass shootings have been heroic. And the training you suggest has been in place since Columbine.
Amen, Sister.Arrandondo, former police chief of Uvalde, was charged and taken to jail today for failing to protect those children. I just watched the Frontline documentary about that day which shows the police waiting in the halls for 77 minutes before confronting the shooter. What comes across most is the fear they felt when they realized he had an AR-15. They knew it could shoot through their bullet proof vests and through walls. Why on earth is it legal to sell such things to civilians?
