Well you have to admit the shock value of this brings school shootings back into the spotlight in a weird way. We, as a nation, are becoming used to the constant violence. We need shocked over and over till we get off our buttocks and DO SOMETHING!!
Then the training you suggest was in place long before Uvalde so maybe the training wasn't that great. Columbine was when they stood around in the parking lot while people bled to death and there have several incidents where the police fumbled since then.

London England says over 12,000 sharp instruments victims in 23/24. Sure most of the knives were also stolen. It doesn't really matter what the crazies use they have illegally obtained a great deal of them. They Steal Hyundi and drive them into pawn shops and gun dealers to steal fire arms and ammo. they then steal another to use at the next heist. Organized, victimized, taken advantage of. Yep ! Waterboarding may be the only crime stopper that will slow it down.

Arrandondo, former police chief of Uvalde, was charged and taken to jail today for failing to protect those children. I just watched the Frontline documentary about that day which shows the police waiting in the halls for 77 minutes before confronting the shooter. What comes across most is the fear they felt when they realized he had an AR-15. They knew it could shoot through their bullet proof vests and through walls. Why on earth is it legal to sell such things to civilians?
