The restaurant's use of signs was obviously not sufficient, as they counted on patrons' self-control. Now that cases are rising in so many places, it is obvious that signs and 'recommendations' are useless. Unfortunately for me and other elderly people, this means that our self-isolation may not come to an end in our lifetimes. Thanks, folks.
 
If people continue to ignore the warnings about this virus, the numbers will only continue to go up. Wearing a mask, and keeping some distance between each other is a Royal Pain, but the alternatives are far worse.

I doubt that we will see this virus being controlled until well into next year....and given the present behavior of so many, the number of those infected could easily double from today's numbers. I'm just glad that there aren't any bar and beach types in our circle of family and friends.
 

It is largely the behavior of stupid, stupid people that will continue to force the rest of us to remain imprisoned by this virus. In the countries where people cooperate, the disease has disappeared, or nearly so.
