They are "thoughts and memories." If it was a 9/11 memorial thread, then it would be inappropriate, but it's not. It's already going that way in this thread, hence the suggestion. Why hijack Marie's remembrance thread?
thank you VERY, VERY much, HoneyNut for posting the entire audio of what was happening with the control centers during that horrible day. It gave me goosebumps as I listened to it. Almost like re-living that day. I had to stop several times to get my heart beat slowed down. You sound like a true American.I was out riding my horse that morning. Being in the country I would wave to people when they passed me in their cars (everyone being neighbors sort of), and usually they'd wave back, but that morning the drivers were looking serious and didn't greet me back. So I was a few hours behind everyone else about finding out what was happening.
There is a very long (couple hour) YouTube video of that morning. I have watched it (listened to it) a few times over the years, it is very interesting regarding the confusion the military had about what planes were involved and where they were.
Jet fuel does NOT need to melt steel. All jet fuel needs to do is heat those trusses to the point where they weaken. Once weakened, they bend. Once they bend, they soon cause a total collapse. My loved ones and I were in or supposed to be in New York City (the city) that day! My husband and I were supposed to go to The Javitz Center with his prospective business partner for a trade show. I wasn’t feeling well so decided not to go. My husband was running late, as usual and by the time he would have left, we received news of the planes hitting the towers.
My son was a bus driver and his daily route was to the city. He has my keys and came in saying “Mom turn on the TV!” He had dropped off his last two passengers about an hour before the first plane hit. I watched in disbelief as the towers came down. They fell straight down and to me it looked like a planned demolition (more on that later). I was on the phone back and forth with my (future) DIL while she was at work at school. Parents were coming in talking about it and some of their info wasn’t correct. My Honorary Son, who I love like I birthed him myself, told me that he was actually supposed to be in the area that day and he would have been very close to ground zero. I think he said one of his children got sick so he didn’t go.
I believe we were lied to about what really happened that day! I've talked to a retired engineer who helped build the towers. I asked him if the planes could have brought the towers down. My first cousin has a close friend who also worked on the towers. Both said no way planes caused the collapse of those buildings. My son told me today he's talked with some engineers (not the same ones) who said the same thing and that jet fuel wouldn't have been hot enough to melt steel beams. And of course, there are engineers who disagree with this. If you haven't already, check out the documentaries Loose Change and In Plane Site. If you do, I'd like to know your thoughts.
Yes, that's what I heard last night on either Dateline or 20/20. An engineer or a fireman was saying just that.Jet fuel does NOT need to melt steel. For the life of me I can't image how anyone could chose to overlook the film of jumbo jets slamming into the World Trade center.
The trusses were NOT wood. They were made of steel.Yes, that's what I heard last night on either Dateline or 20/20. An engineer or a fireman was saying just that.
As I understood it...the trusses are wood? He said that the heat from the steel beams pulled the wooden trusses?
which then pulled them to collapse. It's kind of jumbled in my brain...sorry.
Who said I overlooked it?? I looked right at it. I saw it clearly in real time. All I'm suggesting is that there's more to the story than met our eyes. I also watched a video that supports what you said about what happens to weakened steel in which the effects were demonstrated.Jet fuel does NOT need to melt steel. What more to the story? It's real, real simple. Muslim terrorists flew jet planes into the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and if flight 93 had not been rescued by those brave passengers, it would have been flown into the White House or the Congressional building.Who said I overlooked it?? If you can, watch the films I mentioned. Also someone told me there's an eye opening one currently on Netflix that I have not seen. Is it all speculation? I'd like your opinion if you get to see them. What more to the story? It's real, real simple. A lot of ridiculous things have taken place in this country and in this world that one probably wouldn't believe even if he or she saw it with his/her own eyes. Many of those things were done by so called intelligent, allegedly trustworthy people, including government officials, doctors, policemen, etc. Just sayin....I would like people to think of how ridiculous it is for some (un-named) person to have planted bombs in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon AND THEN ARRAINGE TO HAVE JET PLANES TO 1ST FLY INTO THOSE BUILDING AND THEN TO EXPLODE THOSE MYSTERIOUSLY PLANTED BOMBS.
BUT, some people are willing to believe almost anything, no matter how goofy it is.
