9/11 20 years later. Share any thoughts, memories,

I was out riding my horse that morning. Being in the country I would wave to people when they passed me in their cars (everyone being neighbors sort of), and usually they'd wave back, but that morning the drivers were looking serious and didn't greet me back. So I was a few hours behind everyone else about finding out what was happening.
There is a very long (couple hour) YouTube video of that morning. I have watched it (listened to it) a few times over the years, it is very interesting regarding the confusion the military had about what planes were involved and where they were.
thank you VERY, VERY much, HoneyNut for posting the entire audio of what was happening with the control centers during that horrible day. It gave me goosebumps as I listened to it. Almost like re-living that day. I had to stop several times to get my heart beat slowed down. You sound like a true American.

My loved ones and I were in or supposed to be in New York City (the city) that day! My husband and I were supposed to go to The Javitz Center with his prospective business partner for a trade show. I wasn’t feeling well so decided not to go. My husband was running late, as usual and by the time he would have left, we received news of the planes hitting the towers.

My son was a bus driver and his daily route was to the city. He has my keys and came in saying “Mom turn on the TV!” He had dropped off his last two passengers about an hour before the first plane hit. I watched in disbelief as the towers came down. They fell straight down and to me it looked like a planned demolition (more on that later). I was on the phone back and forth with my (future) DIL while she was at work at school. Parents were coming in talking about it and some of their info wasn’t correct. My Honorary Son, who I love like I birthed him myself, told me that he was actually supposed to be in the area that day and he would have been very close to ground zero. I think he said one of his children got sick so he didn’t go.

I believe we were lied to about what really happened that day! I've talked to a retired engineer who helped build the towers. I asked him if the planes could have brought the towers down. My first cousin has a close friend who also worked on the towers. Both said no way planes caused the collapse of those buildings. My son told me today he's talked with some engineers (not the same ones) who said the same thing and that jet fuel wouldn't have been hot enough to melt steel beams. And of course, there are engineers who disagree with this. If you haven't already, check out the documentaries Loose Change and In Plane Site. If you do, I'd like to know your thoughts.

Jet fuel does NOT need to melt steel. All jet fuel needs to do is heat those trusses to the point where they weaken. Once weakened, they bend. Once they bend, they soon cause a total collapse.

For the life of me I can't image how anyone could chose to overlook the film of jumbo jets slamming into the World Trade center.

I was headed into my office at Fort Gordon when a young GI coming out of the building told me what happened. It staggered me to watch the TV coverage and I will never forget.

I remember a lot of things about that day. It was a particularly nice morning. I was at work and remember the woman who told me a plane had hit the towers and my thinking it was a small plane not a jet liner. My mind went to the B25 that hit the Empire State Building. Later realizing what was happening upon hearing the news of the second plane, then the third.

It was midmorning and the whole place had shut down and everyone went home. I stopped by my wife's job to tell her I was going to be at home and the woman she worked with was absolutely frantic trying to get through to her daughter. She was scheduled to be on flight 93 out of Boston. Wasn't till around noon she found out that her daughter was ok, she and colleagues had missed their flight.

It was in the afternoon, my wife was home. We were watching tv and heard a plane. I said something like it has to be from the base and looked out and saw Air Force 1 in the air . Our house was situated in the flight path for Offut AFB.

These are the memories that are foremost in my mind.

Yes, that's what I heard last night on either Dateline or 20/20. An engineer or a fireman was saying just that.

As I understood it...the trusses are wood? He said that the heat from the steel beams pulled the wooden trusses?
which then pulled them to collapse. It's kind of jumbled in my brain...sorry.

The trusses were NOT wood. They were made of steel.
One of the 1st things a fireman learns is to be extremely careful when fighting fire around/underneath trusses.

My friend, Jadon Dahl, was the Captain on United Flight 93, which crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. I think of him often. He was my flight instructor on the Boeing 757-767. On the day he crashed, he was flying the B-757. Jason lived in Denver with his wife, Sandy. Anytime that I had a layover in Denver, if Jason was also home, I would stay over at his home and we would either go out for dinner stay in and play cards. Jason was very community oriented. He was a true American patriot, but most of all, he was my friend.

Jason wasn’t supposed to be flying that day. He was making up time because he wanted to take his wife to London in the next few weeks for their anniversary. Sad story. Sandy also died in 2012. I’m not sure of the date, but she died from an accidental overdose of pills and alcohol. She suffered great emotional pain after Jason’s death.

I had often flown the flight from NYC to San Francisco that flight 93 took on 9/11. On that particular Tuesday, I had taken off on that particular day because my wife was having a procedure done and wanted me with her. I used to think about what I would have done had I been in the cockpit. I came to the conclusion that I probably would have done the same thing that Jason did. If able, you have to fight in that situation.

Who said I overlooked it?? I looked right at it. I saw it clearly in real time. All I'm suggesting is that there's more to the story than met our eyes. I also watched a video that supports what you said about what happens to weakened steel in which the effects were demonstrated.

What more to the story? It's real, real simple. Muslim terrorists flew jet planes into the World Trade Center, The Pentagon and if flight 93 had not been rescued by those brave passengers, it would have been flown into the White House or the Congressional building.

If you can, watch the films I mentioned. Also someone told me there's an eye opening one currently on Netflix that I have not seen. Is it all speculation? I'd like your opinion if you get to see them.

I would like people to think of how ridiculous it is for some (un-named) person to have planted bombs in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon AND THEN ARRAINGE TO HAVE JET PLANES TO 1ST FLY INTO THOSE BUILDING AND THEN TO EXPLODE THOSE MYSTERIOUSLY PLANTED BOMBS.
BUT, some people are willing to believe almost anything, no matter how goofy it is.

A lot of ridiculous things have taken place in this country and in this world that one probably wouldn't believe even if he or she saw it with his/her own eyes. Many of those things were done by so called intelligent, allegedly trustworthy people, including government officials, doctors, policemen, etc. Just sayin....

My husband says the building used Vierendeel trusses. It does not matter what trusses were used (except to alert construction engineers for other future building). The simple fact is, this destruction and death was caused by terrorists. There is no excusing it. Ms Diva, I am puzzled by your stance on this.
