2001 was quite the year too, wasn't it? Well, that year, a guy here in town had a Christmas display in his front yard that I wish I'd taken pix or video of. He already had a tall flagpole in his front yard that he had a spotlight on all year. Well, for Christmas 2001, he got ahold of a WW2 jeep, sat Santa in it with a spotlight on him too, and had Santa saluting the flag. And that's pretty much all he had (except you could see his lighted-up Christmas tree in his window), but boy was it enough. I really like thinking about it; it was so great for that year, especially.

Got any really cool or unusual light displays in your neck-of-the-woods?

That sounds awesome.
Our local fire station always parks this beautiful antique fire truck out near a major freeway off-ramp where everyone can see it. They trim it with strings of red Christmas lights and Santa Clause is sitting at the wheel (I guess it's a mannequin, idk) and the whole thing sits under a spotlight.
