A cancer status update

It seems that as we get older, more illnesses tend to come our way.

My uncle had a knee replacement surgery a few years ago, which was quite a challenge for him.

I hope that everyone here will stay free from health issues in the future, and most importantly, make sure to take good care of yourselves.

Sadly after Llynn's great news... today I've learned of another forum member who has just been given Terminal cancer news... verry, very sad.... I won't say who, I'll leave them to decide if they want to make it public or not... but they're a friend of most of us on the forum...

I think you've done the right think my friend.... there are people here who have dealt with cancer, people who have been through hell with it, and can be a blessing to you by answering questions... stage 4 cancer is terrifying for you, you need to hear from people who have been there who can perhaps make suggestions which are helpful to you...

When my Aunt had cancer, she was told she probably wouldn't live more than 4 months..
She lived for 29 more years..

@ohioboy 27 years ago I lost my mother to cancer. One of the lessons I learned during her illness, was you must speak up and advocate for yourself or have someone who will do that for you.

Yes, there are qualified medical staff, but there are some who aren't good enough to clean dirty shoes. Not putting down those who are good and compassionate and diligent, but there are those who should not be near ill people.

Speak up, even if it's uncomfortable. Get answers not shoulder shrugs.

It was challenged in Court once by a well known Atheist, the court ruled it as Secular in Nature, she lost.

I've decided to go public. I need Prayers.

I am not a regular churchgoer but, we have some lovely old churches and cathedrals here which I sometimes like to visit. On Sunday I will be going to a cathedral in the City and will light a candle for prayer while I am there.

Like most people, I have lost family and friends to cancer and the one thing I have learned is never to give up hope. One very dear friend of mine was told she had a maximum of 5 years to live - 10 years later and she is still here. I pray for the very best outcome for you @ohioboy
