A Celebrity/ Kardashian Scam or Victim Of A Robbery? Jewel Robbery or Con?

Normally I'd post celebrity news in 'entertainment' but after seeing the news about Kim Kardashian's jewelry robbery one has to wonder if it was a scam. Especially since her husband Kayne West in millions in debt. I'm embarrassed to say I remember reading that earlier in the year. Then I hear she was robbed of MILLIONS of jewelry in their Paris apartment. Paris police are speculating inside job.

Scam, incompetent security or an actual robbery?
 

I thought the same thing! I would not be surprised if it was a scam either for insurance money or publicity but I'm leaning toward the former. We shall see. Maybe.
 
I'll tell you what went through my mind...
it was hard to compete for attention with so much going on like the election, clowns, etc. Lots of headline grabbing stories. No one was talking about Kardashians. Suddenly , she's robbed in Paris. That's just what went through my head.
 

Agreed. None of them DO anything. They're just famous for being famous -- I've never understood why.

When I first heard about the "robbery" I had two big questions: (1) Why would you keep all that jewelry in your room and not the hotel safe; and (2) IF you were dumb enough to do that, why in the world would you not have your security people there?

Seems pretty fishy to me.

What if the real jewelry wasn't there at all, but stashed away somewhere else -- now they've got the jewelry AND the insurance money.
 
I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.

She couldn't have tied herself up so someone had to enter and leave the apartment.
Whether it was genuine robbers or an accomplice, they would have been captured on security cameras.
I reckon the Paris police will sort this question out and the insurance company will not pay up without a thorough investigation.

How long was she in the bath before being discovered, and how was the alarm raised?

I think she had 2 engagement rings totaling $6 million, so when I heard that on the news I figured the robbery was a drop in the bucket for her, no big loss. I really have no interest in any Kardashian, so I haven't cared to follow the details of the robbery.

When I first heard about it, I thought the fact that they just tied her up and left her alone was strange, and thought she was lucky to be alive. Considering now that some people think the whole thing was a scam, that's possible too, I really wouldn't be surprised. I agree with Butterfly, something smells fishy.
 
I have no interest in these people either but couldn't avoid it on the news, even BBC. Wonder whether it's an insurance scam or PR trick.
 
I have no interest in that family ,and I thought exact same thing "scam" ...
If she was tied up with cable ties there is no way she'd be able to "wriggle free" :eewwk:
Polce use cable ties to restrain people, I don't think they would use them if people could wriggle out of them
 
I think Kanye is broke, so making a few mil in insurance money would really help a brother out.
 
One of the items on my bucket list is to slap a Kardashian. Any Kardashian (except for the baby, of course.....I'd never slap a baby, even a Kardashian baby, until it's totally grown up and is another useless Kardashian)......I'd even be satisfied with slapping Kanye West. That would get it out of my system.

Yes, I'm really tired of seeing her and her relatives flaunt themselves in front of any camera that turns their way.
 
Kanye is rather attractive when he smiles, otherwise he's just a vapid douchebag like the rest of the family. But I feel Kimmie had it coming. I mean there are celebrities who don't flaunt their wealth or children on social media for security reasons. She probably posted all her jewelry and then her exact location besides. Of course some resourceful thieves are going to see a golden opportunity.
 
I don't think any of them are attractive -- they're all so overdone and spoiled and have zero talent to do anything but just strut around like a bunch of peacocks.
