A Chef Ate Gas Station Nachos For Dinner. This Is What Happened To His Limbs.

I don't buy gas station food but it does look good and very tempting especially when a person has been on the road for hours.
I suppose anytime we eat out we are at risk even in the most expensive restaurants.
I love buffets and try not to think about it.
I'm not sure they will ever come back at least not in my lifetime,

Our buffets opened several month ago

I have never, ever been tempted to purchase gas station food. Only thing I'll purchase is perhaps a bottle of water or a soda. The last time I travelled alone was to Corpus Christi, I stopped at an Exxon and was starving but did not get anything to eat.

I have bought food at gas stations since they started selling it at gas stations, mostly nachos and hot dog 😂. Never had any ill effects. But I did buy a small sandwich at firehouse subs and ended up in the hospital for two weeks very ill. Go figure. 😂

Whenever something like this happens, people will say, "I never eat at......" or "I'd never buy food at........."
What they're really doing is known as "Monday Morning Quarterbacking;" saying that would never happen to them because they would do something differently - when they already know the choice someone else made turned out bad for them.
The truth is, whenever you eat anything from anywhere, you roll the dice. You can eat at the finest, most expensive restaurant & you have NO WAY of knowing where the food came from or how carefully it was stored or prepared or what it came in contact with. Same with food from a market.

True that when you eat anything from anywhere you take the chance of getting sick including eating at any type of restaurant or any type of residence including your own house , your parents, your friends .... etc.,

Contamination can happen anywhere however when I say I’ve never eaten hot food at a gas station I’ve never eaten hot food at a gas station. I buy gas at a gas station.

Correction: my husband says that some stores with gas stations sell some hot foods but I’ve still never purchased hot food from a gas station and never will. Not many stations in Canada sell this type of stuff so it’s not something I’m used to.

We have "cooking stations" at a couple of our local gas stations. The Phillips 66 station makes excellent fried chicken, and the Casey's makes really good pizza. Both have been in this business for several years. We occasionally get one of their meals/pizza, and always had good results. However, I might be a bit reluctant to get food from such a place while traveling....and not knowing anything about the place.

I ate some cheap empanadas I bought off some kids at a beach in Venezuela back in 1988. They were really tasty and reasonably priced. Later on that day a local told me the filling was likely made from road kill, including dogs, cats and whatever animal had misfortune on the roadway the night before. Never got sick though so it was all good (y)

Nothing better than a good old gas station hot dog and about 4 in the morning. When I worked in the Northwest part of PA (just outside of Erie), I would stop at a Sunoco station at 4 in the morning for gas and go inside to get my hot dog and iced tea, along with having a chat with Cindy the 55 year-old register girl. She always looked forward to me stopping in and if I didn't, she would call me on my cell phone and ask where I was and if I was alright. I thought I was protecting her, but it was the other way around. Who knew?

Oh thank heaven for 7/11 and Mavericks, yummy
