A computer that cost more than my first car!!

:lofl:

"Standard 64k Ram" - wow - I think they had that on the Apollo missions.

And a 10-mb hard drive - be still my beating heart!

I think my coffee pot has better statistics.

My first home computer in 1989 was an XT 8088, 64k ram, 5 1/4" diskettes...I think it was about $1,800. ($3,600 in today's dollars) Printer was a loud Epson dot matrix - about $300.

Yup...technology has certainly brought the prices of computers down, And increased their capabilities over the past 3 or 4 decades. I maintained computers for a career, and the desktop I now use...and cost less than $700, is far more powerful than some of the mainframes I maintained 40+ years ago...and which were large enough to fill a small house, and cost millions.
