Hats off to the men and women who fought and served in WW2
My uncle fought the Japs and lived
ms gamboolgals daddy was the 101st and survived the war - he was in every major battle from the time he jumped in to Normandy
ms gamboolgals 3 X Uncles were all in heavy combat and survived - although her Uncle John had a glass eye - he was shot in Europe and left for dead in a firefight. The officer liked John and sent the men back to get his body. They did; and put John in the dead pile - but he was alive. He had been shot thru the eye and the surgeons could not remove the bullet as it was in the middle of his head. Uncle John lived to be a old man and had a family and worked a full career. He walked with a slight limp and had a glass eye and bullet in his brain.
One of her other Uncles was in the original 10th Mountain Division and fought all up thru Italy.
The babe Uncle was in Navy and was at Saipan and said the Kamikazes was terrible and killed so many Americans
My boyhood best friends father was a Lt. in the Army and went in with a about a 1,000 men in the Islands to fight the Japs and he survived and came back with less than a 100 men.
God Bless them all

Sorry win - did not mean that.

I grew up hearing it all my life, but apologize to you as not meant to offend.

Yes, I heard it from my dad over & over & he wasn't even in the military; he just reacted to the mindset of "We're at war, so we gotta hate them." He (and my brother) used even worse terms while they watched war movies.
Sometimes when we hear something repeatedly (especially from our parents), it starts to become OK. I understand that & thanks for the apology. It shows a lot of class. (y)
