A different salad dressing

If you happen to be looking for a new and delicious salad dressing, give this one a try.
You will need a container, with a screw on lid, that hold about 2 cups.
Gradually add the following to the container.

1/2 cup extra virgin oil oil
1/2 cup Heinz Catsup
2 TBLSP sugar
2 TBLSP apple cider vinegar
2 TBLSP lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Screw lid back into place and shake vigorously. Refrigerate until needed.
"Laissez le bon temps rouler"

That is very similar to one from a 1960 Farm Ladies cookbook. The immediate difference that I see was tomato soup instead of Catsup. It always got rave reviews.

I was heartbroken when I lost that cookbook.

I've always liked "Italian" dressing on my salads. A couple of years ago, I added some "Ranch" dressing to a salad, and was amazed at the taste. Ever since, I put about 2/3rd's Italian and 1/3rd Ranch on my salads. Usually, we buy the Wish Bone or Hidden Valley brands. I've even thought about sending them a note to see if they would be interested in making an "Italian Ranch" blend.

Sounds good!

There are so many variations of salad dressings. I have never found an Italian dressing better than Wishbone. I found a delicious honey mustard dressing in the refrigerated section years back then it was gone from the shelves. I tried others and never liked them. I use LaMartinique Poppy Seed dressing with a splash of Asian sweet vinegar and a splash of grapeseed oil or extra virgin olive oil

Apparently they heard you, @Don M.

In a restaurant if I have a side salad, I ask for blue cheese & Italian on the side. I give 1/2 my salad to my husband. He hates blue cheese.
