A little flash of colour outside my window on a cold, grey and rainy day in Sydney.

Of all the birds in Oz Rainbow Lorikeets would have to be my favourite, they are such cheeky & expressive little fella's, throw out a piece of bread or anything else and they all flock around to eat it, they aren't afraid of humans either as they will land on your hands or head and cock their little heads from side to side

My favourite bird too. They single-handedly make up for most of the other 'critters' we cope with here. They're very intelligent, have distinct personalities are easily tamed, pure eye candy to look at, and other than the noise I don't know of any downside to them at all.
I used have 20 to 30 of them fly in and be lined up on the clothesline waiting for a feed. I used to make them wait a few minutes to watch the antics of them. They are such clowns. By the time I went out half of them would be hanging upside down on the line and some would be dancing along it.
siiiigh. I missed them.
They were all tame enough to be able to 'tickle' and some would even carefully clean my fingernails to get the last of whatever I'd been feeding them on. All but one were totally trustworthy. One would bite but I could never pick him out so it was always a risk.

There are thousands around here, they roost up the hill at night but no one seems to feed them and I don't want to start again either now. Belle would only chase them anyway.

I hate to see them caged though, they're extremely social birds and caging one or even a pair seems cruel.

Thanks for the piccys Reen. Hope you see more of your little fluffball.

I have several of these birds as regular visitors too.
They abuse me if I appear suddenly and startle them.
Apparently they own the grevillia bush and the bird bath and I am the interloper.

Of course they own them Warrigal lol, i used to have a couple that came for a feed every day and if i was late they would hang on the screen door calling out to me, no other birds could eat off the dish while they were dining as it was theirs, funny little bugger they are, i could sit and watch them for hours as they are the clowns of the bird kingdom.
