I've been missing in action the last few days. But yesterday I came home from a walk and discovered my Monkey Tail cactus had opened another flower.

That’s a very unique flower.

Looks like AI to me but if/when they start manipulating plants to make flowers like this I’ll pass.

It is not. Those roses are created by collectors or can be found in specialty gardens. They are absolutely beautiful and delicate. Sorry if you do not like them.

Gosh I’m surprised. I like plenty of other hybrids. Maybe they’ll grow on me.

My wife’s aunt grew some but none had such a flower form. I’d buy this one now!

Here is a rose I used to grow, taken about 14 years ago. 'Marilyn Monroe'. I tend to like roses in the apricot to peach color range but what made this one stand out was the trace of green in the petals, even more prominent in bud before fully open. Behind it is the tall growing phormium 'Guardsman'.

That is a great photo of the flowers. I grew it for a while but for me the flowers didn’t show very well. If have to get down low pull up higher a bit of vine to see the flowers at all. The best way I’ve seen it grown in my area is on a cyclone fence.
