I've admired it but always assumed it needed more heat than we get. Is that true?

I'm growing Variegated Minima Asian Jasmine - Trachelospermum though I need to get a bigger pot for it now that I have it in full sun. Hopefully now I'll get some more of its more interesting variegation.
