And enamored of him, she breathlessly told him of the leprechaun and dragon and the gold

What about the leprechaun & dragon?! It could kill us!

Forest Lady didn't want to lead him to the gold as she knew there would be a terrible fight for its' possession. But......he had saved her and she thought she owed him something.

Forest Lady takes a grape out of her bag and munches it and asks "How bout these Cotton Candy Grapes, aren't they good? Have you had any, they are like gold for your mouth"

The lumberjack laughed. "It will take more than grapes to lure me away from a pot of gold" he said.

 

[Elsie]

[Deya]

Lady Forest, perturbed by the Lumberjacks attitude, delivered a swift kick to his groin. He bent over in pain.

Now back to the story..

 

[Naturally]

There was a romantic song playing on the radio in the lumberjacks truck ... Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze ... which seemed appropriate to the lumberjacks current condition.

 

[LadyEmeraude]

He bent over in pain and then tried to kiss her! She
kicked him in the groin again!

 

[Deya]

The lumberjack crawled back to his truck and got his electric axe and plugged it into the current bush.

 

[Elsie]

Oooh, eee, aaa, ah, oh, he groaned, then stumbled his way out of the trurck towards the culver. Feeling guilty, she followed, carrying his axe.

 

[-Oy-]

Reclaiming his axe he switched it on. NOTHING. It wasn't a current bush after all but a raisin bush!

 

[Deya]

He called for his best bud, Paul Bunion, who had developed a limp because of bad fitting boots.

 

[Naturally]

Forest Lady sighed. Clearly, this forest ran on puns, not power.

 

[Deya]

"Puns or no," she mused, "There will be no gold for these two hunky woodsmen and certainly not for the little runt in funny clothes.

 

[Elsie]

Well good luck Paul with your bunions, and dealing with those cave dwellers, I'm outta here. Just Know that you get your hands on that gold, half of it is mine.

 

[Deya]

The giant oak tree whispered in the wind, "Come to me Lady Forest, hurry."

Lady Forest hurried and the giant oak tree opened up its bark. It was hollow inside. The bark door closed and minutes later Paul caught up. His axe just bounced off the tree. It had become like rubber.

 

[Elsie]

Lady! I'm here! The gold means nothing to to me, only you! And he swung the axe at the tree one more time and it opened, freeing her. For his love for her was more important to him than gold.

 

[Deya]

"Not so fast, Paul," said the forest lumberjack, appearing out of nowhere, "I saw her first."

"You are both after the gold," said Lady Forest, "I am not falling for any tricky pickup lines."

 

[dusty]

Lady Forest took this chance to run deep into the woods. The trees were closer together here and very thick. This was an old growth forest, off limits to lumberjacks and other evil beings. She came upon a small pond and without hesitation, she jumped in...

 

[Repondering]

And deep in the pond's water she heard the voice of the forest speak......"Take sanctuary in my oak trees or my ponds whenever you need it, Forest Lady. Wherever you wish to be, merely wish it and when you surface my waters you will be there."
