A friend texted last eve

that her oldest grandaughter had been SHOT some time last week, bullet
went in her back, traveled down, hit pelvis, then thru her intestines...surgery
removed 6 inches of her small intestine, just got out of hosp yesterday,
Her grandaughter is about 19 I think.....wild damn world anymore....

Very sad to hear that, hope she can get the best treatment available and can live through this in the best way possible. She will be in my thoughts.

Holly…I am being facetious. I am for gun control. Make no mistake. I am so tired of the rampant violence in this country and how those touting the second amendment pat themselves on the back. This was a true reflection of us .

It's way easier for elective hopefuls to talk endlessly about weapons control than to demand studies that could explain why there's been an increase in violence over the past few decades. After the election, it's way cheaper to propose weapons-control legislation than it is to propose a tax-funded nation-wide study on what's causing increased violence.

I don't believe reports that say there isn't more violence, there's just more reporting thanks to technology. There IS more violence. We're even seeing frightening levels of violence in children. There has to be a reason. Personally, I think it's directly related to "better living through chemistry".....a gazillion-dollar industry that can totally afford to back all the elective hopefuls it fancies.
