A Good Evening to All from SoCal

In avoiding the chaos and craziness in the "real world", it's great to find a place that seems a haven of sanity and community. I'm in my 80's, widowed, and living on my own (and I stress, solitude, not loneliness). Still able to drive, do all my own shopping, handle my own finances, blah, blah, blah.
I love to read, to travel, to putter around on my own acres. Yes, we DO have rural areas in SoCal! I'm about 15 miles from groceries, gas, post office, etc.. It's GREAT!
Anyway, hello to all and I'm happy to be joining you.

Welcome to the forum, however if you are looking sanity we are no different here than any where else. As far as a community haven you've come to the right place!

Pinky. My Wife and I will be celebrating our 21st anniversary at the Hot House Cafe, next week. The Hot House is just out of the photo, to the right, on the north east corner of Church and Front street, east. For those that don't know....The pie shaped building in the photograph is the Flat Iron building, which for decades was the head office of the Gooderham and Worts Distillery company. G&W were at one time the largest distillery in the British Empire , and in 1900 they employed over 6,000 people in the city of Toronto. JIM.
