Hello everyone. I'm Knight of Albion from Glastonbury in England.

Friendly greetings to one and all.

:love_heart: Here we are, here and now. This is our big moment in time. So let us try and do something - something good, something beautiful - with the precious years allotted to us. :love_heart:

That's a good kind of denial! You're only as old as you feel, we're blessed to be sure! :) PS: I'm a regular member here on this forum. :D

Hi Knight of Albion!:)

I am just curious to know more about what being a Knight is all about? Could you tell us more interesting details about your Knighthood?:)

Thank you, dear Ginger. Nice to meet you.

There are white knights and black knights. It is the Albion part that is relevant. Mystical name for the old England of legend. A land of chivalry, honour and romance. Championing of truth and love, and all who are oppressed.

OH MY!! NOW, NO ONE KNOWS THIS...(.so I am going to whisper!) But, I have always had a fascination with medieval stuff...like pictures of castles etc. I have a lot of English in my ancestry.....my grandmother did our family geneology once and said that we actually have "connections to the THRONE" (by marriage!) Who knows? But, I have always wanted to change my name to JULIET,also! shshsh!

Ahhh!! Chivalry, honour and romance!! -------------------Severely wounded in this Day and Age; happy to know somebody still lives by those Creeds:D

My maternal ties to England can be traced back as far as 1210 --- sadly there was nothing chivalrous about most of mom's brothers or her only sister - lol. I say "most" because there were 13 children:eek:

If you tell me the name "Brockway" is somewhere in your history, then we need to talk:star: Brockway was my maternal grandmother's maiden name - I THINK she had eight brothers and sisters but I can't remember for sure.

I once had the entire Brockway history on a computer. It crashed big time but I carried that stupid thing with me everytime I've moved, as I keep thinking I will take it to some expert who can get all that family information for me - how dumb is that - lol lol lol

Hi! No Brockways in my past....but as I read one of your past posts....you mentioned that your family were "dairy farmers".....that was interesting because my dad, who came from the family of 12 children, was also raised on a big dairy farm in Wisconsin.......their last name was JONES?

No connection there either.

My mom's parents had a big dairy farm.

My dad's parents came thru Ellis Island from the farmlands outside Budapest, where they were also dairy farmers. All their holdings were confiscated by the Communists. My grandparents fled to the U.S. and eventually saved enough money to buy a very small farm where they started a small dairy herd. Dad was born in this country but he had an older sister who was born in Hungary that refused to leave on the promise of THEIR grandparents giving her some of the farm land (they were wealthy over there). That didn't happen because the communist came after everything.

WOW! You have a lot of "history"in your family line....I guess we ALL do, just most of us aren't as informed (as you seem to be) about what it is? I hope you get back all the information you lost? GOOD LUCK !!

Welcome, Knight of Albion from Glastonbury in England. We are indeed an eclectic group of people here. Now that we are too old for 'peer pressure' we can indeed be eclectic and even a little eccentric, if we so wish. Once again, welcome to seniorforums.

I too have a fascination with the medieval period. Love the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, Merlin, etc. A good book if you like stories of the medieval times is the Mists of Avalon. A good long winter read with all the kings, knights, ladies, wizards and sorceresses.

KnightofAlbion, I previously questioned you in my welcome thread about your name. Now I know where you're coming from.
