A Massachusetts police officer attacked by his own K-9 partner

A Massachusetts police officer attacked by his own K-9 partner fatally shot the dog Tuesday morning, authorities say.

Police say Officer Keith Larson, a 17-year veteran of the Plymouth police department, was forced to shoot Nico, a German shepherd, about 9:20 a.m., WBZ reported.

“As I’m sure you realize, it’s extremely difficult for a K-9 officer to dispatch their own dog like that,” said Police Chief Michael Botieri, according to the station.

Any cop who says "It's difficult for a police officer to kill their own police dog is a liar. Police dogs are expendable - that's why they are often sent to attack an armed suspect. Cops know the suspect will do what anyone would do when attacked by a dog & when the suspect hurts or kills the dog, officers then have a justification to shoot the suspect, since the dog is considered an "officer" & assaulting a police dog is considered assaulting an officer. It is really amusing to watch the funeral for a police dog - after police officers sent the dog to his death.

I've had officers try to feed me the B.S. line about how "Rare" it is for police dogs to be injured or killed, but there are numerous examples, including some where officers have abused & killed their own dogs out of simple frustration. Don't believe it?

Former Miami-Dade officer charged with animal cruelty for killing K-9

A police K-9 trainer violently kicked the jury box in a Miami-Dade courtroom Tuesday, not to wake up the jurors, but to show just how hard a police dog was kicked just moments before he died.

The treatment of Duke the K-9 is at the center of the animal cruelty trial of former Miami-Dade cop Allen D. Cockfield, who is accused of delivering the deadly kicks to the dog over four years ago.
Cockfield, 55, is facing six years behind bars if convicted for killing his four-legged partner of six months.

And that's not the only way police dogs are abused. Often times, officers will send the dog to chew on a compliant suspect out of revenge or punishment - especially when the suspect isn't the officer's favorite color. Much easier than trying to justify kneeling on a suspect's neck until he dies. "I couldn't help it; the dog got away from me......" Police officers don't care; the city pays out for lawsuits."

Officers who do this are not heroes; they are scum.

Seething with anger!

I should say the training went too far!

I am so sick and tired of listening to the feeble and concocted excuses that are all too often attached to the goings-on and actions of police. This is outright animal abuse plain and simple.

We're friends with a dog breeder in the area, and I can't wait to send him and his wife the link to this video. I'll bet they'll have more than a few things to say about seeing a helpless dog being repeatedly punched in the face, and then listening to the justification behind it.

The poor man who videoed the incident. What a thing to have to witness.

If your friend has any family who are police officers, you can expect the typical:
"It's extremely rare"
"These dogs save officers' lives"
"These dogs want to do it & love their job" (Sure. What dog wouldn't love getting punched, shot, or stabbed?)
Or, (my favorite): "You must hate police officers. What crimes have you been convicted of?"

I commented on Facebook yesterday about that cop who punched his dog in the face several times. One person's reply to me:
"You don't know what you're talking about. I'm a police sergeant."
I replied, "Being a police officer doesn't make you right. It makes you biased."
REALLY pissed him off!

Good on you for the comments you made on Facebook!

That's the problem with society today, far too many seek the path of staying quiet.

Watch these cops shoot a suspect AND their own dog they sent to attack the suspect - who was only armed with a flip flop:

That's some shocking footage.

If someone asked me my thoughts on K-9 Police dogs, my first words to them would be, they're disposable, and this video clearly portrays that.
