As a man I don't mind doing the chores around the house. I'm retired and DW is still working. Even before I retired I was doing a bunch of the household chores...

I don’t know too many women that love doing housework, and overwhelmingly, whether women work or not they end up doing the majority of both housework and childcare. It’s no wonder the birth rate is down. Women are worn out from many men not doing their share. Six months ago I hired cleaners to clean once a month and love it!

They obviously didn't ask me, nope to housework, but I have to say, I would have rather been a stay at home wife with housework to do and taking care of children, instead of more than 40 years, at times, working for some bosses who treated me like the dirt under their shoes and I was too afraid to say anything and just took it because I needed the money.

No, they do not. What a load of buffalo chips! I'm a woman, and I dislike housework. I would rather do something else. However, I will gladly cook. If there are women who enjoy doing housework, that's fine, have at it. I'll be on the patio sipping a cocktail.

I didn't have much luck with that video - but for my 2 cents.

Nope ~ don't particularly like housework ... it's a necessary chore and that's about it.

If magic elves suddenly did all my housework at night while I was sleeping - I would be one happy woman!

I've been considering doing that..same thing. Get cleaners in once a month.. for a deep clean. what do you get them to do..on a monthly basis ?

@hollydolly You can have them come in and handle the bigger things you might have more trouble with. Like vacuuming or mopping or deep cleaning and things like that. If you can do the smaller things like dusting and wiping down surfaces and the lighter things then you'd be all set.

I would really only want them to do the deep cleaning..like the bathrooms, wash the blinds in all the rooms... vac the stairs ....clean out the cuoboards and fridge when necessary

I can do everything mysef..... but just these days it 's more difficult than it used to be.. Once upon a time I can do the whole house top to bottom, in 2 days , now it takes me a week ... and by the time I've finished it needs doing again...

@hollydolly you could probably look for someone and discuss with them what you need done to make sure they agree to it and then you'd be set. I know some housekeepers only do certain things. Others are more open to doing what the client needs. Hope you can find someone to help you out.

I agree, when you live alone you can prevent the need for much of the cleaning that is necessary when you live with others.

Cleaning my tiny bathroom is the only real challenge.

I break it into several five minute tasks that help me to keep things under control.

Yes, the bathroom! That is the problem area for me too.

That's just it. Cleaning up after others--especially if they neither appreciate or even notice you doing it--is the absolute worst.

That study shows women love a clean, well-organized home. It's necessary to do housework to have one. I'm sure they'd all have housekeepers if they could. There's always opportunities to spot-clean here and there if that's what you're into.
