A New Study Shows Women Love Housework

That study shows women love a clean, well-organized home. It's necessary to do housework to have one

That is quite a different statement!!

Yes l like a clean neat well organised home but that doesn't mean I like doing the housework to keep it so.

I wouldn't say I love any housework but there are things I don't mind doing, like laundry or dishes or cooking dinner or tidying up
My husband does the vacuuming more often than I do and we have a paid cleaner who does mopping and cleaning bathrooms fortnightly.

That study shows women love a clean, well-organized home. It's necessary to do housework to have one. I'm sure they'd all have housekeepers if they could. There's always opportunities to spot-clean here and there if that's what you're into.
I wouldn't. Even if I were a millionaire, I wouldn't want someone else to clean my apartment for me.

The only time I dislike it is when I don't have the correct supplies/equipment.

We hire a cleaning company that sends out about 4 maids every now and then. We had the first and second floors cleaned last November when our family stayed with us. It isn't cheap but compared to a monthly or weekly cleaning it works out. When I spoke to the dispatcher I said "I think you were out here about 6 months ago". She said "I'm showing July 2024". :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, they clean and dust everything and we never can believe how shiny the house is afterward. I'll sometimes get on a roll and tackle something major, but that doesn't happen very often. I'll clean toilets and sinks but rarely will I clean a bathroom floor. The wood on the ends of our stairs gets mighty dusty but I'm hard pressed to go up and down the stairs and dust it. I did take the oven racks out a couple of weeks ago, set the oven on self-clean and cleaned the racks by hand with EcoLab oven cleaner I got at Home Depot. Our oven looks brand new now. That's my project for the year.

Funny story, our house used to be relatively dark inside but the next door neighbors cut down a huge tree that was providing shade. I was looking at the living room the other day and saw it looked really dusty, then realized it is because light is coming into our house.

We self-cleaned the oven a few days ago. I didn't remove the racks and they came out sparkling, A pleasant mistake.

I've been considering doing that..same thing. Get cleaners in once a month.. for a deep clean. what do you get them to do..on a monthly basis ?
They sweep dust and mop my entire home. They also clean the kitchen countertops, sink, stove, and outside of the refrigerator. They clean everything in the bathroom thoroughly.

If you wanted them to do extra jobs, you could pay extra for them to do that. What I get is considered a standard clean. You can probably negotiate anything you want with Cleaners.

Because I live in a condo, I can handle the windows myself. I only have one window in each bedroom and then a wall of glass on my balcony. It’s really easy for me to clean all my windows myself and it’s not a big job. Since you live in a house that would be entirely different.

I don’t like blinds so I have curtains. I can easily take down those myself and wash them. I had blinds when I was young and found them to be much more work than having curtains.

Thanks TT..... I can do the windows.. myself.. the window cleaner does the outside..I do the inside..

I can clean all my kitchen myself... it's always clean.. so there's no work there for anyone else.

It's the bathrooms and the vaccing of the stairs that hurt my back... ...also I would want all the woodwork washed down ..., I can do the latter myself, but it's a big job every few weeks... and again, bending to do the skirting boards is hard on my back

Cute video. It reflects how women really feel about housework. Kudos to the men who help around the house. I hate housework, probably because I had to do so much of it when I was a teenager. I also kept my house a lot cleaner when I was working than after I retired....go figure! I've thought about hiring maid service to clean...but I'd probably clean up before they got here. šŸ˜…

A New Study Shows Women Love Housework

But you ladies make it look so easy, for instance, there's a young woman who lives over the way from me.
She is a member of a football team, and while mowing her lawn, she keeps a ball in the air tapping it up aloft from foot to foot, and this is while pegging her washing on the line and gripping her mobile phone under her chin. Awesome to watch. ;) 😊

Yeah my sister had one when her kids were small, but not so long, cause it was only extra work. She'd go clean everything herself to not be embarrassed when the cleaner came.

That's just it. Cleaning up after others--especially if they neither appreciate or even notice you doing it--is the absolute worst.
Depends on who you do it for. My rabbit attacked me when I was cleaning, because it was his mess. I don't mind cleaning for my kids who are appreciative. I help clean for my mom and brother once in a while. They also helped me a few times when my kids were small. My mom is not annoying. That's why I like doing it. My brother lives there and keeps it clean, but he doesn't notice fatty hand spots on kitchen cabinets and I always clean the toilet when I visit. If she gets these super tidy women to visit her I am sure they notice. But they are not domineering and demanding and they're very appreciative.

You have to make sure you can trust them too. If I ever had to have help in my home, I would have cameras!

You hire a company that’s licensed, bonded and insured and then you can be sure that all the employees have been screened and you don’t have to worry about people stealing. Once I went back to work full-time in 1994 I had Cleaners up until about five years ago. Now I started up again.

I’m using the same company that I’ve used for a lot of years. In the beginning, I tried three or four companies until I was satisfied, and no one ever stole from me. I do not have cameras inside the house. These people are so awesome that my dogs absolutely love them.

Has anyone ever researched the cost of a housecleaner. Around here $25/hr is considered a bargain. The norm is $35-$40. Some use your supplies, others bring their own.
