A New Study Shows Women Love Housework

my mother used to clean people's houses for a living for a while. i know she didn't charge even $25 an hour. i don't remember what she charged but this was like back in the late 70s maybe. sometimes she would take me along and i would help for free of course.

You hire a company that’s licensed, bonded and insured and then you can be sure that all the employees have been screened and you don’t have to worry about people stealing. Once I went back to work full-time in 1994 I had Cleaners up until about five years ago. Now I started up again.

I’m using the same company that I’ve used for a lot of years. In the beginning, I tried three or four companies until I was satisfied, and no one ever stole from me. I do not have cameras inside the house. These people are so awesome that my dogs absolutely love them.
Actually, the people I know who had bad experiences with cleaners, got them just through word of mouth rather than an agency so, it sounds like using a licensed agency is much safer albeit probably more expensive. I often see people on the local WhatsApp group asking for details of local cleaners - I have no idea if they do any checks on whether they are licensed or not but, I doubt it.

I don't mind housework since I live alone in a small studio apartment. It's easy now! It is cleaning up after others that made me not like it.

Me too. I live alone and I like the moderate size of my apartment because it's easy to care for. I like keeping a neat, orderly home. While I do like keeping things clean, I have to give myself a boost sometimes to begin a general cleaning routine.

To combat this sluggishness, I do a lot of cleaning-along-the-way. So, I'm always cleaning but it's broken up into short, quick daily or every other day processes. It keeps things from getting really dirty. I rarely have to do extensive, exhausting , deep cleaning because of this.

I also practice good habits, like cleaning up messes and spills right away, even if it takes extra effort. If something boils over on the stove, I take the eye(s) apart and clean that right away (after the stove cools ♨️👍🏽), though I would rather put it off.

Waking up to a dirty kitchen is depressing to me. I don't have a dishwasher and don't need one. If it's late and I don't feel like washing the dishes, I store them in the fridge till the next morning and wipe down the kitchen for the night. I have so few dishes to wash every day and I try to do them by 4:00. I know that the later it gets, the less I'll feel like doing them.

Sometimes, I'll cook a more elaborate meal, maybe to freeze for the week, and I'll have more dishes, pots and stuff. That's when I sometimes get caught not washing them early enough.
