A nice day at the Dallas Arboretum

It was 82 and sunny today, so Hubs and I ventured out to Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum. Don't be too jealous. We are dropping into the mid-30's tomorrow night. It was pretty crowded, with people from all the world enjoying the beauty. That just made it more enjoyable.

Everything is blooming. The tulips and azaleas were outrageous. The yellow tulips absolutely glowed in the sun. They look fake in the pic. They are not.

Gorgeous photos @seadoug !

Texas is a ways away but if you ever get up around Nashville, TN, please take at least a day to visit Cheekwood Estates.

Along with spectacular gardens, the mansion is of historical importance and can be toured.

Unfortunately, I have never been able to go there, but I see specials on our local channels in the spring.

Thank you! We go to the gardens wherever we visit. We've been to the gardens in Denver, Portland, Fort Worth, etc. Cheekwood Estates sounds like the Biltmore Mansion in Asheville. I've been wanting to visit Nashville so we will check this out. The last time I was there was probably in the 90's when I stayed at the Opryland Hotel and couldn't believe how spread out the property was. Seems like Nashville is quite the up-and-coming city these days!

One of the things we love about our neighborhood is that it is 5 minutes away from the Arboretum. People from other cities/countries literally have to plan their day around visiting there. We can just drive a few minutes up the road to see how crowded it is. If there are too many cars turning in, we just go back home. We were lucky to get there when the morning crowd was leaving and the afternoon crowd was coming in. I don't think we will ever leave our home!
